Spring has Sprung - Can Summer be Far Away?

It is so gorgeous outside to day I can hardly take it in. New mulch has bathed the flower beds and Dad has been planting flowers. Our neighbor "B" even brought us extras to plant. The lawns are brilliant green and the tree out front has turned into willowy greenery swaying in the breeze. Absolutely breathtaking. Whatever the season - that tree offers beauty. Whether bare limbed and strong branched in the Winter snow, brilliant pink in blossoms come Spring, falling leaves in Autumn hues, or the brilliant splendor of Summer green - that tree gives and gives.

Dad is busy with "Little Women" rehearsals, I am trying to organize the messes I have created... I am especially grateful today for dear children and darling grandchildren. No particular reason, just every reason possible. How lucky am I!

Dad has just gotten a new calling - he will have to tell you about it. So his last "Activity" will be the Ward picnic the end of this month. I have just been called to be Ward Librarian and although that means I miss some of my meetings...I rather enjoy seeing the folks who come to the library and am glad I can be of service. I keep thinking I can read the scriptures during the down time, but have yet to experience much down time...

Thank you children for your blog postings. How I love to read them. Wish I could send comments too, but for some reason it will not always let me send one. Hmmm. Can't figure that one out yet.

I must have put a hex on my Visiting Teaching... The dear lady we visit had 7 bypass heart surgery and then my companion fell and broke her hip and wrist. Is it me or what?

Met some lovely people from Belgium the other night. The man looked so much like Uncle Vern it took my breath away when I saw him. I guess I shouldn't complain about my job at the hotel. Gives me the opportunity to share the wealth as it were with my family and I do get to meet some wonderful people. I should remember those times when I am cleaning up after the other kind of folks that are neither interesting or tidy, eh? And besides, I just got a 19 cent an hour raise. How is that for underwhelming...

Our bedroom painting is almost done which means I had better get busy making the curtains. I have the fabric - am just afraid to sew shears... However, I figure the time has come. I have the new bedspread, bedskirt, pillow shams, etc. Boy is Dad in for a surprise. Now if I only had new furniture and lamps. Maybe next year... The walls and woodwork look lovely though and I am very pleased.

Guess I could have sent this post via an email. Not too much exciting or interesting going on. But I did want you to know I am still (cough, cough) blogging - sort of...

Can't wait to see your bedroom! You always decorate so beautifully. I loved your description of the perfect spring day. Those days make me smile and be glad to be alive. I bet your yard it gorgeous. We need some help with ours - the kitchen has taken over. Can't wait to see you in a week! Sometimes I can't post a comment because I have forgotten to sign in. Maybe that would work for you?
