A very Happy Easter to you all. It is a very special day indeed. I remember when our children were little we would sometimes go to Forest Lawn in West Covina and walk through the story of our Savior's life and His resurrection as we looked at the beautiful mosaics portraying those events. We would sometimes sit on the grass and talk about what had happened and the meaning of Easter. The older I get, the more appreciative I become of the promise of the resurrection. I am especially grateful for the knowledge we have as members of the Church to have this knowledge and understanding. President Hinkley said it so well, "He Lives! He lives, resplendent and wonderful, the living Son of the Living God." - the "Author of our salvation."
Last night we watched the movie "The Ten Commandments" for the gazillionth time. It reminded me of a trip we took to San Diego with the Shipleys. Jenny was just a tiny tot - and if I am not mistaken, Jeremy was the baby that kept crawling all over our bed while we watched the movie. Because neither family were too well healed, we shared a hotel room. Eric was just a little boy. The movie went on long into the night and slowly the viewing audience dwindled with children from both families FINALLY fell asleep one by one. Even the adults were not doing too well at staying awake. But Eric was determined to stay awake until the scene in the movie when the Red Sea parted. Poor little honey finally resorted to sticking his hand in the ice bucket filled with ice to help him stay awake. It was hilarious. And a miracle we didn't have ice all over the bed as he kept nodding... That is a dear memory Dad and I still recall and it still puts a smile on our heart. Our children were too little to remember - and I suspect most of the Shipley kids were too little too. But I bet Eric remembers. Those were good times.
Have a marvelous day. We love you!~
